Valkyrie Woodburning

2006 Woodburning (aka Pyrography) on basswood...yes this is based off of a drawing I already have here. The black background I ended up actually carving out and painting in with black acrylic paint, to make the burning "pop out" more. I'm still learning and practicing woodburning since I felt I needed to learn a new medium and this felt right for me. I'd greatly appreciate a few comments and advice so I know whether I'm on the right track with this ... Of course I already know I need more practice
